Early Saturday morning Brighton ran in the Freedom Run. He had to run with the older kids because we had to be at the start of the parade when his age group would be runnning, but he still did awesome! We were so proud of him.
Getting ready to start
Getting his ribbon at the finish line
And then we rushed over to the start of the parade to get in our car, and rode in the parade. As always, the kids loved throwing candy-- especially to their friends.

A special thanks to our friend Rob, for taking this picture for us
When we got to the end of the parade, we sat and watched the rest of the floats go by
And then we walked home-- it is so nice that we live right off the parade route!
That evening Susie and Greg invited us over to their house for a BBQ. The kids will never pass up an opportunity to play in their fun backyard.
The sprinkler under the tramp is always a hit
After dinner we did some fireworks
The kids had fun playing with Greg's grandkids
I guess some of the fireworks were a little loud for Siena
Chelsea is a big fan of her Aunt Susie
What a fun 4th of July!

Way to go Brighton! I'm so impressed. I'm kind of jealous of your fun activities because I'm not kidding there were NO PARADES in Elkhart. So we were super bored. I wish we lived in a fun city like Centerville! Miss you guys!
Looks like a wonderful day. Brighton is so cute. And I love the picture of your family in the parade. What fun memories for your kids. Glad you guys had a nice holiday.
I am so proud of Brighton for running in this race. He's such a talented little athlete. I love your coordinating parade outfits. I wish we could have seen you in the parade. I'm so glad you had a barbecue with Aunt Susie. It looks like everyone enjoyed the holiday.
