Go Giants!

Justin has always been a HUGE SF Giants fan, which means that now we are all Giants fans. This year they made it to the World Series, which is pretty exciting stuff. Since that happens so rarely, I told Justin he should try to make it out there for a game or two if he can.

The first two games were amazing, and we hope they keep up their winning streak!

Primary Presentation 2010

Yesterday we had our Primary Sacrament Meeting Program. All of the kids did a fabulous job, but of course I was especially proud of Brighton and Chelsea. It was sad when we realized that Siena was under the assumption that she would be part of the program, too. And who can blame her? She learned all the songs along with her big brother and sister. Next year, Siena :)

My New Hobby

About a month ago my friend Stacie taught me how to make crocheted flowers. It has been a fun and inexpensive hobby, and I can make one in about 15 minutes while I watch TV. My kind of project. Lately I've expanded my repertoire to include headbands and other styles of flowers, too. Very useful when you have three girls :)

Brighton's 7-year-old Pictures

There is no school today, so I got Brighton dressed bright and early to go and take some pictures of him. As I was driving around I found the coolest old barn that I thought would be great to take pictures in front of, but when I saw the "No Trespassing" sign I chickened out. So we went to our old stand-by on Main Street. Love this old building.

I probably should have taken these before Sunday when he lost his front tooth, but I guess that's part of his 7-year-old charm.

Chelsea and Siena's Last Game

On Saturday, the girls had their last game of the year. It has been so fun to have these two on the same team this season. Chelsea was just as spirited as she was last season, but with better skills. Siena was just happy to be on the same team as Chelsea, and didn't get into it as much... but hey, she's only three. They called themselves "The Green Slime Monsters", and true, we don't really keep score at this age, but there's no question their team dominated the league.

It was a great season, and we're looking forward to starting back up in the spring...

Brighton's Special Week

Brighton turned 7 on Monday. He was up bright and early, excited to open his presents.

The girls and I went and took a special lunch to him at school. Siena insisted on sitting and eating hers with him.

It was fun to sit in his class while his teacher, Mrs. Mullins, spotlighted him.

She said her favorite thing about Brighton is that he is a good friend to everyone and always kind and friendly to all the kids, and I have to agree

And after a dinner at Panda Express (his choice), we enjoyed his favorite, vanilla bean cheesecake. Yum.

But overall, his birthday day was pretty low-key because we were gearing up for this:

When we started planning his party, Brighton was so sweet, he had such a hard time narrowing down his guest list because he just didn't want to leave anyone out! And I have to admit that is one thing I love about him, so I decided we were going to make it work. We invited everyone in his class, plus a few special friends from his class last year. And guess what-- every single one RSVP-ed yes! 33 kids in total... can you believe it!?

We had our darling multi-talented girls from Chelsea's party help out again. This time they did some fabulous face-painting, which was a TOTAL hit. I couldn't believe how excited the kids were to get their faces painted!

We gave the kids the option to dress up, and it was so fun to see all of the creative and fun costumes. It really added to the party spirit.

The eating part was a little chaotic, and I don't know what I would have done without my three cute helpers there to pass out the pizza, fruit, and soda. It really was a feeding frenzy. But so much fun.

At the end we had cupcakes and ice cream. I have to say it was pretty impressive to hear 30+ kids singing "Happy Birthday".

He is a bright, kind, sensitive, thoughtful, and ambitious boy, and we all love him so much. Hope your birthday party was all you hoped it would be, Brighty.

And now I am glad we are done with birthdays until April...
