Adventures in Potty-Training

It has been one week since Chelsea’s first startling attempt at using the potty. She has actually done surprisingly well, too. She tells me when she needs to go, and if we can get to the bathroom in time it has been successful. We have had a few stumbling blocks, though. First of all, she is too little to pull her pants up and down by herself, let alone undo buttons and zippers and snaps and hooks or pull down tights. And I am fine helping her if I didn’t have a little baby in my arms that I can’t set down just anywhere… especially not in a public bathroom. So out of pure laziness on my part, we will be taking a little hiatus from potty training—probably until the spring when Chelsea will be wearing less layers (because of warmer weather) and Siena will hopefully be able to stand on her own two feet (like when Chelsea suddenly needs to go to the bathroom in public). Sorry to impede your developmental progress, Chelsea… it has sure been cute to see you in your favorite Hello Kitty underpants!

Chelsea looks cute in anything she wears.
