A series of photos from the last couple of days

I had a really lovely Mother's Day. Despite having to leave early Sunday morning for a work trip, Justin still made me breakfast in bed and they all showered me with wonderful gifts. I always look forward to the random, yet thoughtful things the kids pick out for me. This year, Brighton picked out chocolate, golf balls, and an ice cream scoop. Chelsea gave me chocolate and really cute salt and pepper shakers. And Siena got me-- yes, chocolate, and also an egg cooker. So cute. And I was really excited about these heavenly gourmet chocolates and a gift certificate for a spa day from my sweet husband. They know me so well-- I love chocolate, I need a day of pampering, and I really enjoy getting new kitchen gadgets!

This is a picture I took of Siena yesterday afternoon. I was busy in the kitchen making dinner and realized she was awfully quiet. If you can believe it, she actually fell asleep STANDING in front of the kitchen TV, but by the time I ran back with the camera she had slid down to the floor. It makes me wonder if we've phased out afternoon naps a little too soon?

And hooray for finally completing unfinished projects! I bought a bunch of this adorable "Olivia" fabric back when Siena was a baby, with the intention of making a quilt for her and for my sister who was expecting her first baby. It has sat collecting dust in my craft closet since then, and I finally decided I was going to do something about it. So I made two of these darling quilts, one for our new baby, and one for my sister's SECOND baby. Sorry Siena and Ella-- I promise I will get around to making you quilts some day...

And it goes perfectly with the new car seat canopy

Chelsea got these funny glasses from a preschool friend yesterday, and I just had to add this photo because it cracks me up.

So I am surviving this week so far, praying that I don't go into early labor while Justin is gone...

Wow, Lisa! That quilt and carseat canopy are so cute. Well done! You are amazing. I hope you have a great week, and that it is very uneventful, especially as far as the baby is concerned.

What? Is that quilt really for Norah? I'm SO excited! It's beautiful! You need to teach me how to quilt.

Good job getting such a huge job done so soon to your baby's due date. I'm impressed! I think I pretty much laid on the couch and watched Ella play for the last month before Norah was born.

Anyway, happy mother's day! You're amazing, and I absolutely love you.

i can't wait to meet the new little one! although i guess i'll not wish to meet her until justin gets home. :)
