A New Temple

It may not seem like it would be worth the effort to drag three children under the age of 6 to a temple open house, but I was only four when the Tokyo Temple opened, and I actually remember going to the open house surprisingly well.  It was a memorable experience for me, and I was determined to take my kids to the Draper Temple Open House.  It was a good thing Grandma Allen joined us, since Justin was too busy at work today to get away... taking them all by myself would have been a little overwhelming...

It was a beautiful temple and a beautiful day, and I am so glad we went.  It was so cute to hear Siena saying "beautiful!" over and over in her hoarse little whisper, and I loved how Brighton and Chelsea walked quietly through the temple with their pamphlets open, as if they were following a special map.  At the end of the tour Brighton told us that he was going to get married in the Draper Temple, so I guess it left quite an impression.  I was actually very pleased (and relieved!) that the kids did so well inside the temple.  It just goes to show that there is always a special spirit in the Lord's house, and it can be felt by little people and big people alike.

I'm so glad you went. I was about 5 when I went to the Bountiful Temple open house and it was really familiar when I got married there. I think they'll remember it. How special for them that they've been inside 2 temples already!
