She finally Made It!

It was a very sad day for us last week when we found out that my mom wasn't going to be joining us for Christmas as planned. There have been record-breaking snowstorms in Portland, and as a result roads were closed and no flights were going in and out of the city for most of last week. We crossed our fingers and re-scheduled her flight for this week, and thank goodness, most of the snow has melted since then, so she is now here to spend New Year's with us!

We exchanged our gifts a few days late, but the kids loved having a "second" Christmas

Brighton could not be happier about his new Star Wars Legos. He has begged and begged for them, and I've been telling him that he isn't old enough to play with them yet (too many little pieces that are going to get lost or swallowed by one of his sisters), but Obaachan spoiled him. Hey, what are grandmas for, right?

All in their Christmas jammies

Sharing a pre-bedtime snack

And a story before bed

We are all so glad that she is finally here!

Oh I'm so glad she got there safely! And how fun that they get to have Christmas again:) I'm so jealous you're going to have mom cooking you Japanese food for the next couple of days ... it's totally not going to be the same having to cook it all myself! Miss you guys!
