Letters to Santa

Brighton has been begging me for days to help him write a letter to Santa. So, last night I got them some festive paper and sat them down at the table with markers and coloring pencils. Since neither of them can really write in sentences yet, I persuaded them that Santa would understand if they just drew pictures of the things they want.

Chelsea was getting frustrated since not only is she unable to write words, she's still not very good at drawing... so I told her to tell me what it was she wanted to write and I would write it down for her word for word. And this is what she dictated:
"Dear Santa, I want a baby doll and some books, and that's all. Love, Chelsea."
She has always been our child who is very sure about what she wants and rarely changes her mind, and you gotta love her simple and emphatic request.

Brighton, on the other hand, filled up his paper front and back with various words and pictures (all Star Wars related), and is still not sure if he asked for the right things or ENOUGH things.

Inspiring greed and materialism with our Family Night activity: priceless.

That picture of Chelsea is really cute. And I think it's so cute how their letters to Santa show their differences that distinctly! I miss you guys!

What a fun idea! What darling kids! What should Grandma get for the girl who wants almost nothing?
