Brighton and I look forward to building a gingerbread house together every year. I am always in charge of putting on the frosting, and Brighton decorates it with candies. This time we were a little impatient and started the decorating before the structural frosting had hardened, which resulted in the walls collapsing, and when the roof began to slide off he said "this is the worst gingerbread house day ever!" But we had a good laugh and got it all repaired. Not bad, right? Next year we may have to include his sisters in our little project. This has been a really fun tradition.

Brighton did a great job with the candy, and I can't believe how good you are with the icing. Love the icicles.
so cute! we are going to do this on sunday at a neighbor's house and my kids CAN'T wait...something about making a dream house out of candy makes them just giddy. great photos lisa!
Wow you are really good with that frosting, it's so pretty! And by the way, I seriously laughed out loud when I read what Brighton said. I love to hear the things kids say when they're stressed and upset. SO FUNNY!
It looks wonderful! You must have done it while the girls were napping. Great rescue job!
What fun for Brighton to have a little one on one tradition. You are going to have to let the girls join in. We used to make our own smaller versions growing up. It is still a favorite memory!
