Weekend with the Cousins- Friday

Brighton, Chelsea and Siena were so excited to have their Talmage cousins visiting all the way from Japan. They arrived Friday evening, and we had a hard time getting them to go to bed because they were so busy playing together.

Happy Easter!

We had beautiful weather, wonderful church meetings, a lovely dinner with family and friends, and an egg hunt in the backyard. Can't really ask for more on Easter Sunday.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, too!

Egg Hunt

We had our annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt this morning. The weather wasn't very cooperative so we moved it into our church building.  The kids had a great time.

Easter Pictures

I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of the Target Portrait Studio. Their backgrounds are boring, they always use the same poses, and I think the color is a little off.  But Target is super inexpensive, and until I feel like I can take formal pictures of my three wiggly kids by myself without tearing my hair out (or until my sister moves back out here!), it will have to do.  But I sure love these cute kids, and I love their Easter outfits.

Easter Eggs

Yesterday Grandma came over and we dyed Easter eggs. I dressed the kids in their darkest clothes, spread newspaper everywhere, and we got to work.

The girls loved painting their eggs and putting glitter on them

Brighton was pretty proud of his "Tie Fighter" egg

I think Siena had more fun painting her face than the eggs

Thanks for all of your help, Grandma!

I love the colors they chose

Bonus: A funny video of Siena eating some eggs.

A Trio of Videos

Justin often complains that I don't get enough video of the kids doing everyday things.  So here are a few videos of our funny kids:

The first question I asked Siena was "What's your name?"(-- I know, it doesn't seem that momentous, but I think it's so darn cute to us because she refused to say her own name for such a long time...)  I love how she tells Izzy, "I'll be right back"

Conference Traditions

I LOVE Conference weekend. I want the kids to feel that it's a special time too, so we try to make it a big deal. In fact, until recently, Brighton had always called General Conference "Special Church". Here are some of the things we do:

I make a really yummy breakfast (like these cinnamon rolls)

We play the candy game, where the kids get a piece of candy for every "buzz" word they hear

This time I had put together these special booklets for all of the primary kids in our ward, and Brighton and Chelsea were very excited about them (don't you just love sugardoodle?)

They each got a new box of coloring pencils

Here are a couple of pages out of Brighton's book.  Not bad, right?

*What sort of fun Conference weekend traditions do you have?*

These Girls Are Ready For Summer...

The girls came across some new swimsuits I got them for this summer and they insisted on trying them on.  Have we mentioned how much we love summer?

Mmmm... Ribs....

Over the weekend we went out as a family and tried out the new Texas Roadhouse in Bountiful. These pictures aren't the best because I took them with my phone, but as you can see, Siena was a big fan of the ribs.

Family Gathering

On Sunday we gathered at Grandma and Grandpa's house for Campbell's baby blessing. It was so fun to all be together.

As always, the kids had a lot of fun with their cousins:

Brighton, Chelsea and Siena really loved being around baby Campbell and couldn't get enough of holding her and kissing her.
