Today Brighton's class celebrated Chinese New Year (which will be on February 14th). They have been practicing their program for weeks, and it was fantastic!
Brighton is the head of the dragon
They sang several songs in Chinese
And re-enacted the story of The Little Red Hen, in Chinese (Brighton was the red hen)
Chelsea was fascinated, and had the best seat in the house
They also performed some traditional folk dances
Afterwards they had a reception with some yummy Chinese food
The girls really enjoyed the dumplings and fried rice
Brighton and his cute teacher, Zhao Lao Shi
I really can't say enough good things about the Chinese immersion program that Brighton has been a part of. It's amazing that these kids can learn so much in such a short period of time, and they have so much fun doing it! Brighton has really thrived in this program, and is doing so well-- it really is proof that this is the perfect age to learn a second language, their brains are like little sponges!

How fun! And I'm jealous of the Chinese food. Now I think I might have to go and make myself some あげぎょうざ. That looked good.
p.s. when did Chelsea get so tall???
i'm glad you love the CI program, but seriously! don't tell anyone else how great it is! we're hoping for a variance the year ethan goes! :) can't wait for that!
What a wonderful program! I am sorry that I had to miss it, but look forward to the next one. I love that Brighton is the star of the show. Fun! Fun! Fun!
